By accessing or using EssentialPDFTool at essentialpdftool.in ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

EssentialPDFTool provides free, browser-based PDF processing tools. All processing occurs on your device. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

3. Permitted use

The Service is provided for personal and commercial use under a fair use policy. You may use the tools to process your own documents or documents for which you have legal authority to process. You may not:

  • Use the Service to process documents you do not own or do not have authorization to process.
  • Automate requests to the Service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service or its source code.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

4. Unlock PDF — important disclaimer

For authorized use only

The Unlock PDF tool is designed to remove password protection from documents you own or have explicit written authorization to unlock. Using it to circumvent copy protection, DRM, or access controls on documents you do not own or do not have authorization to access may violate copyright law, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), and equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction. By using the Unlock PDF tool, you represent that you own the document or hold explicit authorization from the document owner.

5. Translate PDF — accuracy disclaimer

The Translate PDF tool uses third-party machine translation APIs. Translation output is provided "as is" and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Do not rely on automatically translated documents for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or official purposes without independent review by a qualified human translator. EssentialPDFTool accepts no liability for decisions made based on machine-translated content.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the output of any tool will meet your requirements. PDF repair is best-effort; we cannot guarantee recovery of corrupted files.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EssentialPDFTool and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business, arising from your use of the Service.

8. Intellectual property

The EssentialPDFTool name, logo, and website design are proprietary. The open-source libraries we use (pdf-lib, pdfjs-dist, Tesseract.js, PeerJS) are subject to their respective licenses. Your documents remain your property and are not accessed by us.

9. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts.

10. Changes to terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
